The 'Lenzerheide’ Series comprises works in watercolor paint, pencil, and oil pastels on paper. These pieces aim to express my impressions of the town of Lenzerheide, a ski village in the Swiss alps. The town to my perception was sweet, joyful, sporting, and calm. The town has sun, mountains, a lake, and lots of skiing — it was a great retreat to experiment with styles and transition into the new year.
ABOUT THE SERIES
Maps bridge a space between reality and imagination - imaginary landscapes, mapped meticulously with cartographic notations, ingraining their shapes into reality. By meticulously charting the contours of these abstract experiences, they become real and navigable. Through the practice of tracing the depths and heights of these watercolor paintings with gel pen and watercolor, I was able to explore internal emotional landscapes of my own.
